Installation and generative music
An insularium, a small showcase inside which a small ecosystem has been prepared, is filmed by an infrared camera. The level of the water, the surface of the emerging rock and the movements of the vegetation each produce drones programmed according to the image analysis. The volume of air remaining in the showcase defines the presence of white noise, a kind of breath on this miniaturised space. This translation of pseudo-scientific data into music, producing a generative chord with harmonies that are sometimes anxiety-provoking, sometimes soothing, echoes my memories of Alicudi Island in Sicily. presented at HEAD (Geneva University of Arts) 2019

Sound Installation and performance following a theoretical research about new ways of thinking my own electronic music ecosystem
This sound laboratory brings together diverted studio tools and DIY instruments. It evokes the limits between the environment of inspiration and listening, between ambient sounds and those from our musical culture. Its devices are focused on the observation of nature and the chaos that escapes from it. Resonating among birdsong, the sound of water and wind, they respond to the inspiration that the great outdoors is to musicians. Mai-Thu Perret’s performance activates the sculptural elements of her Spike Island exhibition and plays with the ongoing cultural relevance of the witch as fairy tale bogey woman, feminist icon, and working class heroine. Ecole de Théâtre Serge Martin
A series of courses given in collaboration with Johan Rosset between 2019 and 2023, with the aim of using the video image as an acting partner in theatre (Actor-Image Workshop) and developing acting with the camera when making short fiction films (Camera Workshop).

An orchestra of audio equipment, abandoned loudspeakers, obsolete radios and resonant transducers, echoing the idea of François Bayle's Acousmonium, but in a "cheap" version. In this research conducted with Berlin-based artist Varoujan Chetirian, the sources are used more as effects with their distinct characteristics than as points of multichannel diffusion. This research work gave rise to a public installation, presented at La Fonte, a cultural space in the Halles de La Fonderie in Carouge. The process was also continued in public in August 2020 at the Parc de La Perle du Lac in Geneva, see Lo-Fi Sonic Laboratory. originally commissioned by La Capite, former art collective based in Lausanne Carouge, Geneva 2020

A hand-held exploration of the abandoned Swiss hotel "Beim Meyerhof". The sound of debris crunching underfoot is filtered and amplified to give a muted, interiorised perception of the mysterious atmosphere of the place. In the installation, the peaks in intensity of the soundtrack produce interference on the video stream (analogue) transmitted on a cathode-ray monitor. displayed in HEAD Geneva 2019 thanks to Margaux Dewarrat for the trip to the abandoned hotel

Avant-Garde and experimental composers have constantly reinvented music with their work during the last century. More and more tools can now be used to compose in the digital age. Algorithms like artificial neural networks have recently become popular due to their astonishing abilities in the field of data analysis and generation. As they even show signs of « understanding », these networks are currently being used as a new way to experiment in arts and technology. They represent the dawn of a new era in computer science and generative arts. This work was an overview of different musical practices that include digital technology and relationships between artists and algorithms from the late 90’s to 2018. The reflexion proposed in this book follows a playlist of tracks and excerpts, helping to imagine the possible collaborations that could emerge between composers and artificial intelligence.

Dyne is a modular synthesiser with a tangible interface. Instead of being controlled by fine settings and values, each instrument’s soft surface turns our hands’ gestures and the forces we apply into sound. While modular synthesisers usually have potentiometers and switches, the musical experience of Dyne revolves around the movements and limitations of our body. It gives us a new way to approach sound synthesis, oscillating between our haptic perception of the system and it’s own sensitivity. This bachelor diploma project was born with the help of ECAL’s Media & Interaction Design department and the following tutors: Christophe Guignard, Cyril Diagne, Alain Bellet and Gaël Hugo.
Electronic Music Collective and Label 2018
Brainwaves is an electronic music collective and label based in Geneva. Composed of 5 artists at the origin of the project (Estebahn, Hermeth, HTN, Tout Casser and Weith), the group also collaborates with other Swiss, French and foreign DJs and producers. Started in 2018, the activity of the label is focused on the release of club oriented EPs, although the music of its different artists crosses many genres (Acid, Breakbeat, Electro, Bass, Half-time, IDM, Ambient, Experimental). After a first VA on vinyl as well as digital releases chained to a frantic rhythm, the label tries to capture a global view of the electronic music landscape in French-speaking Switzerland, with the titanic compilation Feu Au Lac, gathering the productions of 45 artists. Since 2020, the releases of the collective are spaced more and more, in particular with the aim of taking care of each one’s personal projects and studio works. This approach also leaves room for a sustained artistic collaboration with the illustrator Thomas Perrodin to create a fictional alien universe that now follows Brainwaves in all its activities. The releases of «Versus» series in 2021 (Estebahn and Yolek, then Lastrack and Tout Casser) open the way to the inclusion of new characters to the label’s catalogue. A 3-year residency at Threads Radio resulted in a series of DJ-sets and live improvisations highlighting an eclectic and vast musical universe. Brainwaves has performed at parties in the French-speaking part of Switzerland inviting local and foreign artists and collectives such as La Sacrée Déter, CAF? the Lyon-based duo CRK from Comic Sans or the Berlin-based producer Privacy. The collective has also played in Paris and Berlin alongside Les Chineurs de Paname and Solid Blake respectively. In March 2023 the Extragalactic party took place in Geneva, an event based on live performances by the label members and invited artists.

Notes for an Organ Player is a performance about the possession of the otherness, an attempt to control the unpredictability. The performer’s body is moving intensely through space, as for a mysterious yet very specific training, then harvested by a producer, gathering samples from heartbeats, skin frictions and breaths to create a heavily noisy soundtrack. The performer is thus used as an instrument or a symbolic ressource. Sports training, medical practice and game of power are intertwined to show the performance field as an anatomical theatre, where the body becomes both screen and device.
